Bad Breath remedies

No one likes to have bad breath.  We spend tons of money each month on ways to prevent it, but sometimes they don’t even touch the surface of the problem.  If you suffer from a case of bad breath that just won’t quit, try a few of these remedy ideas.
•    Brushing your teeth after each meal will help a great deal. Try keeping a travel toothbrush and some toothpaste with you at all times so that you can sneak to the washroom after you eat, or smoke for that matter.  Otherwise, make sure you brush at least twice a day for two to three minutes or longer.
•    Try to floss your teeth at least once a day. This is a great way to get rid of the food that gets stuck between your teeth as well as the build-up of plaque that gets in there.
•    Remember to take a few seconds during each brushing to also brush your tongue.  Our tongues are a breeding ground for bacteria and cleaning it often can help prevent bad breath.  Also, make sure to clean as far back on your tongue as possible as bacteria collects there the most.  And for the area’s back there that you can’t get without gagging, try gargling with a bacteria fighting mouth wash for a few moments to take care of the rest.
•    If you are a denture wearer, you need to give them a complete once over at least once a day.
•    Keeping your mouth moist is also very important.  A dry mouth can be hazardous as bacteria will produce quicker and the smell will be worse.  To keep it hydrated, try drinking extra water each day, or chewing sugarless gum or sucking on some sugarless candies as both of these promote excess saliva.  Drinks to stay away from however are coffee, soda, or alcohol.  If none of these remedies help with your dry mouth then go see your dentist to see if there is anything else they can prescribe for you.
•    To promote clean teeth you need to make sure you change your toothbrush at least every three to four months, and be sure to choose one with soft bristles.
•    Keeping up regularly scheduled checkups with your dentist can also ensure that your teeth and mouth stay cleaner and your dentures as well.
•    And lastly, a great homemade natural remedy for you organic buffs would be to chew fresh parsley or mint.  These are two great ways to freshen your breath.

All of these are great ways to fight against bad breath and should all be taught to your children at a young age in order for them to take those lessons with them as adults.  The only remedy however to take out would be the use of mouthwash as they contain alcohol and can be dangerous to children if swallowed.  Keeping your remedies as natural as possible is the best way to go with children and adults as well.

For those that are looking to go all natural and want something a bit more than just parsley or mint, check out these few great home made natural remedies.

•    Try using fenugreek.  When the seeds of this plant are used in a tea, it has been proven to be effective in treating bad breath.  To ensure that you take this regularly, here is a quick recipe: 1 teaspoon of the fenugreek seeds and ½ litre of cold water.  Allow the two ingredients to simmer for about fifteen minutes on low and then strain out the seeds for tea.
•    Avocado is another great natural remedy.  What this wonder food does is remove the decomposing particles that cause bad breath.
•    Guava is also good to use as it is rich in malic, tannic, oxalic, and phosphoric acids that all go towards stopping bad breath. It is also a great remedy for those that often suffer from bleeding gums.
•    Another use for parsley with bad breath is to combine it with boiled water and cloves. Once simmered and cooled it can be used as a mouthwash throughout the day.
•    And lastly, raw juices can help in fighting bad breath, especially when using juices from green vegetables.
